POSSIBLE CAU S E
D RYER WON’T STA RT
• D ryer unplugge d. Make sure power cord is plugged in.
• No power to drye r. Check fuses and circuit bre a ke rs to make sure dryer is ge t t i n g
c u rrent. Most electric drye rs use two .
• C o n t rols impro p e rly set. Make sure controls are set and that the Start button is
p ressed or turn e d. Opening the door during operation stops the drye r. To re s t a rt ,
close the door and push the Start bu t t o n .

• Controls impro p e rly set. Check all controls to make sure they are corre c t ly set fo r

the load you want to dry. See the How to Operate Your Dryer section.
• C l ogged lint fi l t e r. Clean filter befo re eve ry load. Pe ri o d i c a l ly re m ove lint fi l t e r
and clean area under it with vacuum cl e a n e r. See the Care and Cleaning section.
• Improper ducting. Make sure dryer is ducted in accordance with the Installat i o n
I n s t ru c t i o n s .
• O b s t ruction in exhaust ducting. Make sure ducting is clean and free of
o b s t ruction; make sure damper in outside wall cap operates easily. If fl ex i bl e
ducting is used, be sure it is not kinked and is pro p e rly installed according to the
I n s t a l l ation Instru c t i o n s .
• B l own fuses or tripped circuit bre a ke rs. Check household fuses or circ u i t
b re a ke rs. Most electric drye rs use two. It is possible for one to be bl own or
t ripped and the dryer still tumble without heat .
• I m p roper sort i n g. Do not mix heav y, h a rd - t o - d ry items with lightweight art i cl e s .
• Too many items in drye r. Dry only one washer load at a time. Do not combine
l o a d s .
• Too few items in drye r. If drying only one art i cl e, a dd two more similar art i cl e s ,
even if dry, to ensure proper tumbl i n g.

• Some fab rics will shrink whether machine washed and tumble dried or wa s h e d
by hand and drip dried; others may be safe ly washed but will shrink in a drye r.

wash or tumble dry.
W R I N K L I N G
• L e aving clothes in dryer after tumbling stops. Remove clothes pro m p t ly and
hang them immediat e ly.
• I m p roper loads. Avoid laundering heavy Pe rmanent Press items, s u ch as wo rk
cl o t h e s , with lighter Pe rmanent Press items, s u ch as shirts or blouses. Do not
wash or dry Pe rmanent Press with regular laundry.
• Fa i l u re to use fab ric softener. Proper use of fab ric softener will minimize
w ri n k l i n g.
TO REMOVE W R I N K L E S
Try one or more of these sugge s t i o n s
• R e t u m ble on Pe rma Press setting.
• R e rinse and dry on Pe rma Press setting.
• If unsuccessful, re t u m ble on high heat for 10 - 12 minutes and hang immediat e ly
• I ron care f u l ly
• Send to dry cl e a n e rs for pre s s i n g
• Some wrinkles may remain wh i ch cannot be re m ove d. *
* NOT E : If you fo l l ow good laundry pro c e d u res and Pe rmanent Press clothes still
come out wri n k l e d, the finish may not be good quality. A l s o , in permanent pre s s
synthetic/cotton bl e n d s , the cotton portion of the fab ric can eve n t u a l ly we a r
away leaving only the synthetic. Since it’s the cotton portion wh i ch is tre ated fo r
Pe rmanent Pre s s , a loss or decrease of Pe rmanent Press perfo rmance will re s u l t .
“Easy Care ” fab rics may eve n t u a l ly lose their finish and wrinkle even with
p roper care.
IF DRYER STILL DOES NOT OPERAT E , call for Serv i c e, GIVE THE MODEL AND SERIAL NUMBERS A N D
DESCRIBE THE SYMPTOMS OF THE DRY E R .
