• Check Field
Check Field mode is used for monitor color calibration. The four modes of Check Field are
[Mono] [Red], [Green], and [Blue]. In [Mono] mode, only a grayscale image is shown.
When either [Red], [Green], and [Blue] mode is selected, only the respective color channel is
shown.
Reference the following instructions for calibrating your monitor to SMPTE color bars:
1) Display SMPTE split-field color bars on the monitor from an external source.
2) Enable [Mono] mode and locate the Pluge pattern in the bottom right-hand corner of the
screen (the two black bars and one gray bar under the RED color bar). Adjust the
[Brightness] of the screen until there is no difference between the Pluge pattern’s two
black bars. Only the gray bar should still be visible.
3) Adjust the [Contrast] of the screen until there is an even grayscale across the top bars.
4) Disable [Mono] mode and enable [Blue] mode. Adjust the [Saturation] of the screen until
the outside bars (blue and white) match in brightness.
5) You are finished. Disable [Blue] mode.
