FML Flat Port 34 Instruction Manual 20170328
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1.
Lens Port Installation:
a.
To mount the lens port on your housing, follow the instructions provided with the housing.
b.
Note that the assembly and locking markings featured on the lens port might be different
than those featured on the housing and mentioned in the housing instruction manual.
c.
For smooth installation and removal of the lens port, it is recommended to apply a slight
amount of silicone grease over the lens port O-ring prior to installing it on the housing.
d.
It is recommended to secure the front cap of the lens port by attaching its secure string to
the housing. If making use of an arm in the system, the secure string can be secured to the
arm rather than to the housing.
e.
The lens port features a front 67mm thread which allows mounting a variety of “wet”
conversion lenses and color correction filters on the lens port. These “wet” lens accessories
can be installed and removed during the dive, providing flexibility in composition
preferences and a wide range of enhancement options according to changing diving
conditions. Note that it is recommended to apply a small amount of silicone grease on the
threaded area of the port in order to prevent corrosion. Make sure that no grease is applied
over the port glass.
2.
Lens Port Removal:
a.
After the dive and prior to removing the lens port from the housing, detach any lens
accessories mounted on the lens port and rinse all components in fresh water.
b.
Make sure to dry the housing exterior prior to opening the lens port in order to avoid water
coming in contact with the camera or lens once the lens port is removed.
c.
If the front cap is secured to the housing, detach the string or remove the lens cap prior to
removing the lens port.
d.
To remove the lens port from your housing, follow the instructions provided with the
housing.
e.
If encountering resistance when attempting to remove the lens port as a result of significant
pressure changes, it is recommended to use a lens port opening tool, if included with your
housing.
f.
It is recommended to store the lens port separated from the housing during transportation
and storage.
Important
Note
Once the lens port has been mounted on the housing,
it is important to
test the housing empty (no camera installed inside)
in a body of water in
order to verify that the housing watertight seal has not been affected
during lens port installation.
