SAFETY MESSAGE TO MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL
Listed below are some important safety instructions and precautions you should
follow:

Readandunderstandallinstructionsbeforeoperatingthisunit.
•
Anymaintenancetotheunitmustbeperformedbyproperlytrained
personnel.
•
Anymaintenancetotheunitmustbedonewiththepowerturnedoff.
•
Donotservicewhenahazardousatmosphereispresent.
•
Neveraltertheunitinanymanner.Safetymaybeendangeredifaltera-
tions are made to the unit.
•
Onlyfactoryprovidedservicepartsaretobeused.Onlythesecompo-
nentshavebeenverifiedandcertifiedforuseinhazardousareas.
•
Norepairsormodificationsaretobemadetothemicrophoneelementas
this will invalidate the certification.
•
Thenameplateormarkings,whichcontaincautionaryorotherinforma-
tion of importance to maintenance personnel, should not be obscured.
•
Afterperforminganymaintenance,testtheunittoensurethatitisoper-
ating properly.
•
Toreducetheriskofelectrostaticdischarge,wipeunitwithadampcloth
only.
A. Routine Checks.
Ensurethattheunitismaintainedinlinewiththeregulationsinforceand
at regular intervals, at least once per year.
1. Checkforexternaldamageandcorrosionandrepair/replaceasneces-
sary.
2. Checkforwaterordustingressandrepair/replaceasnecessary.
3. Checkallearthconnectionsandverifycontinuity.
