Use for intended purpose
The hand-operated circular saw TS 55 EQ is designed exclusi-
vely for the sawing of wood, wood-like materials and plastics.
With the special saw blades for aluminium offered by Festool,
these machines can also be used for sawing aluminium.
The machine should not be converted or modifi ed, e.g. for any
other form of use, other than as specifi ed in these operating
instructions.
The user shall be liable for damages and accidents resulting
from incorrect use.

Electrical connection
The network voltage must conform to the voltage indicated on
the rating plate. A 16 A safety fuse (for 120 V) or a correspon-
ding protective circuit-breaker is required.
See Fig. 2 for connecting or disconnecting the power cord to
the tool.
Always switch the tool off before connecting
or disconnecting the power cord to the tool or to a power
socket!
Extension cable
If an extension cable is required, it must have a suffi cient
cross-section so as toprevent an excessive drop in voltage or
overheating. An excessive drop in voltage reduces the output
and can lead to failure of the motor. The table beside shows
you the correct cable diameter as a function of the cable length
for the TS 55 EQ. Use only U.L. and CSA listed extension ca-
bles. Never use two extension cables together. Instead, use
one long one.
Note: The lower the AWG number, the stronger the cable.
