PRECAUTION

connect the transcever to an
AC outlet. Ths may pose a fire hazard or result n an electrc
shock.

hold the transcever so that
the antenna s very close to, or touchng exposed parts of
the body, especally the face or eyes, whle transmttng. The
transcever wll perform best f the mcrophone s 5 to 10 cm
away from the lps and the transcever s vertcal.

connect the transcever to a
power source other than the BP-223, BP-224, or BP-252.
Such a connecton wll run the transcever.
DO NOT
use or place the transcever n drect sunlght or
n areas wth temperatures below –15°C or above +55°C.
KEEP
the transcever out of the reach of chldren.
KEEP
the transcever at least 0.9 meters away from your
vessel’s magnetc navgaton compass.
BE CAREFUL!
The transcever’s rght-sde panel wll
become hot when operatng contnuously for long perods.
BE CAREFUL!
The transcever meets IPX7* requre-
ments for waterproof protecton. However, once the trans-
cever has been dropped, waterproof protecton cannot be
guaranteed because of possble damage to the transcever's
case or the waterproof seal.
* Only when the battery pack, top plate and flexble antenna are at-
tached.
MAKE SURE
the flexble antenna, top plate and battery
pack are securely attached to the transcever, and that the
antenna, top plate and battery pack are dry before attach-
ment. Exposng the nsde of the transcever to water wll
result n serous damage to the transcever.
After exposure to water, clean the battery contacts thor-
oughly wth fresh water and dry them completely to remove
any water or salt resdue.
