Jeep
®
Patriot received the highest marks — Five Stars — during side crash tests performed as part of the
U.S. Department of Transportation’s SaferCar.gov program.
(1)
This means you can head out with confidence,
knowing you’re outfitted with a comprehensive set of safety and security features. Patriot’s air bag
(2)
system includes a front and rear side-curtain
and advanced multistage driver and front passenger air bags. A standard Electronic Stability Program (ESP)
(3)
integrates a host of systems that
include a four-wheel antilock brake system (ABS), all-speed traction control, a Brake Assist system that automatically helps provide strong
braking power in emergency situations, Electronic Roll Mitigation (ERM) that can apply appropriate braking and reduce engine power when
sharp steering actions and/or impending wheel lift is detected, Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and available Hill Descent Control (HDC).
A Tire Pressure Warning Lamp or available Tire Pressure Monitoring Display provide notification of high or low pressure on individual tires via
an instrument panel readout or warning light (depending on system). Patriot’s safety cage structure contains a front crumple zone that absorbs
energy during a frontal impact and a high-strength cross-beam under the rear seat that helps transfer side-impact energy from one side to the
other. Plus, a standard Sentry Key
®
Antitheft Engine Immobilizer makes it virtually
impossible to drive without a valid key.

Five Star ratings are part of the 2008 U.S. Government’s SaferCar.gov
program (safercar.gov).

Always sit properly in the seat with the seat belt fastened. Children 12 and under should always be in a
backseat correctly using an infant or child restraint system, or the seat belt positioned correctly for the child’s age and weight. Air
bags shown deployed for illustrative purposes only.
(3)
No system, no matter how sophisticated, can repeal the laws of physics or
overcome careless driving actions. Performance is limited by available traction, which snow, ice and other conditions can affect.
When the ESP warning lamp in the speedometer flashes, the driver needs to use less throttle and adapt speed and driving behavior
to prevailing road conditions. Always drive carefully, consistent with conditions. Always wear your seat belt.
Play it safe out there.
