2.
Treble. This is used to boost or cut the amount of treble or high frequencies to the channel.
The 12 0’ clock position is ‘0’. This is the optimum setting for the channel and indicates that
treble has not been either increased or decreased. Be careful not to wind in too much
treble as this could result in a high whistling type sound called feedback occurring and
could potentially damage your speakers.
3.
Level. This is to adjust the amount of volume to the channel.
4.
EFX. This is to adjust the amount of reverb to the channel.
5.
Mic. This is a low impedance input for connecting a microphone. Often referred to as an
XLR
input.
6.
Line. This is a high impedance input for connecting instruments, etc, or anything that
requires a ¼” jack. Please make sure that you are using a screened instrument lead and not
a speaker lead when using this input. They look very similar.
7. Master
bass.
This is to adjust the overall bass. As with the individual channel, the zero
position is at 12 0’ clock so bass can be reduced as well as increased.
8.
Master treble. This is to adjust the overall treble. As with the individual channel, the zero
position is at 12 0’ clock so treble can be reduced as well as increased.
9.
Reverb/Depth (on CS415). This is to adjust the overall reverb or DSP effect.
10. Footswitch. This is to plug in a footswitch to enable the effects to be turned on and off
(sold separately). This is useful for speaking in between singing.
11. Power. This is the power light that indicates that the mixer is switched on when
illuminated.
12. Master volume. This adjusts the overall volume to all channels simultaneously.
13. Music volume. This adjusts the amount of music volume coming into the mixer when a CD/
MP3/tape player, etc, is plugged into the Music in inputs.
14. Music in. This is used to plug a music source into. The inputs are via phono (sometimes
referred to as RCA) inputs. This cable is available separately from
www.musicgeardirect.co.uk.
15. Rec
out.
This is to plug any recording device into to allow you to record anything that is
plugged into the inputs of the mixer.
16. Graphic Equalizer (CS415 only). This allows you to cut or boost certain frequencies to help
enhance the mix. The middle of each graphic is your 0dB starting point. Frequencies tend to
be cut or ‘notched out’ more than boosted. Ideal if you are in a room which does not have
particularly good acoustics. You can use the graphic to cut certain frequencies that
sometimes tend to feedback.
