2- AUTO Mode
To use the built-in Auto mode – a library of exciting colour changes, keep pressing the
“MODE” button until the LED display shows “AUTO”. In this mode the unit will run pattern
two for a period of time, then automatically run pattern three and so on until pattern ten
is reached. It will then restart with pattern two. This creates an ever-changing light show
without the need for the operator to intervene.
Note: The special effects shown in (1) and (2) can be selected.
3- DMX Mode
It is possible to operate the Lanta Fireball Par 64S™ from a remote location by using either
a DMX controller or a PC or laptop with a DMX interface. Lanta products use a 3 pin XLR
style connector and usually have an input and output DMX connector. This allows multiple
lighting products to be “daisy-chained” together to build a display controlled by just one
cable back to the DMX controller.
NOTE: In larger installations, there may be limitations regarding the maximum length of
DMX cables and the maximum number of devices that can be used in one daisy-chain
(or node).
NOTE: It is often desirable to terminate the last device on the node to minimize noise
and interference. Interference on a DMX network can make some lighting products to
behave erratically; this is most noticeable with moving head or other motorized products.
This is not a fault with the lighting product.
Please see your DMX controller handbook for further details.
To use the built-in DMX function, it is necessary to set the DMX address. To do so, first
choose the correct mode by pressing the “MODE” button until the LED display shows
“d” followed by a 3-digit number (e.g. d007). The “UP” and “DOWN” buttons allow the
selection of the DMX address and can be selected between 001 and 512.
The Lanta Fireball Par 64S™ uses several adjacent CHANNELs of DMX and the first
will be determined by the DMX address setting - as described above - and the second
CHANNEL will be one CHANNEL higher and so on. E.g. if the DMX address has been
set to 105, then the Lanta Fireball Par 64S™ will be operated by channels 105 and 106
etc. In most applications, it is sufficient to set the DMX address to 001 as shown in the
table below.
When the Lanta Fireball Par 64S™ is connected to the DMX controller, each CHANNEL will
be controlled by a slider or similar control. When the slider is at the bottom the VALUE is
0. When the slider is at maximum, the VALUE is 256. The value can be set at any level at
any time.
