Checking the flame sensor
22. Check the safety switch by closing the gas shutoff valve. The main
burner flame (
Fig. 33) and the ignition flame ( Fig. 32) are
extinguished. After no more than 6 seconds, the main gas solenoid
valve on the gas valve must close with an audible noise.
23. After 90 seconds, the burner control unit must switch to locked
status and stop generating sparks.
24. Disconnect the heating system from the power supply. Open the gas
shutoff valve. Switch on unit power supply.
A normal operating cycle must follow. If the gas shutoff operates
correctly, proceed to step 25.
25. If the gas valve does not operate correctly, switch ON/OFF switch on
the gas valve (
Fig. 34, [1]) clockwise to the OFF position
immediately. Close the gas shutoff valve. Disconnect heating system
from the power supply and inform the customer service technician or
LP gas company.
26. Turn the gas valve ON/OFF knob [1] clockwise to the OFF position.
27. Close the gas shutoff valve.
28. Disconnect heating system from the power supply and set the
thermostat to the lowest setting.
29. Remove pressure test port and pressure gauge for measuring the gas
supply pressure and orifice pressure from the gas valve. Close the
openings with the screw plugs [2] and [3] again.
30. Repeat steps 1 to 11 (depending on the controller used) and
step 20.
Thus the heating system is started up again.
Check the screw plugs [2] and [3] for leaks with soap solution.
If no leaks are found, continue with step 31.
31. If leaks are found, close gas shutoff valve and turn ON/OFF knob on
gas valve [1] clockwise to the OFF position immediately. Shut off the
heating system from the power supply.
Seal the leaks. Open the gas shutoff valve and repeat step 25.

32. To avoid corrosion, carefully wipe off the soap solution afterwards.
Checking aquastat
33. Check operation of the maximum aquastat setting to make sure that
it switches the boiler off as soon as the boiler temperature set on the
aquastat or Logamatic 2107 controller is reached. Record the result
in the commissioning report (
Chapter 6.8, page 26).
– Set aquastat to its desired setting.
– Reattach front wall of boiler and close it.
With the Logamatic 2107 control only
34. Set the operating mode selector switch to the AUT operating mode
(automatic operation).
