1. A  microscope  is  a  precision  instrument.  Handle  it 

carefully, taking care not to hit it against an object.

Do not disassemble the microscope or drop its lens on 

the  floor,  for  this  makes  accurate  observation 

impossible.

Avoid using  the  microscope in places where  there  is 

direct sunlight, high temperature, high humidity, dust or 

vibration.

Be  sure  to  use  the  tension  adjustment  ring  when 

adjusting  the  tension  of  the  coarse  focus  adjustment 

knob (see page 16).

No high temperature or humidity!

1. Clean  all  glass  components  by  wiping  gently  with 

gauze. To  remove  fingerprints  or  oil  smudges,  wipe 

with gauze slightly moistened with a mixture of ether 

(70%) and alcohol (30%)
