6.4 Seawater Intake
6.4.1 Pick Ups and Intakes
On the bottom of your boat you will find pick ups and
intakes for the supply of raw water to your boats various
systems.
Shown is an example of one type of intake. The intake
may be gravity fed as pictured or forced by movement
of the boat, which in this instance the intake would be
positioned reverse of the one pictured so that water
would be forced through the intake with pressure from
the movement of the boat.
Care should be taken that these intakes and pick ups
are cleaned of barnacles and other growth as specified
in the maintenance section of this manual to maintain a
clear open passageway.
