SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read the user instructions carefully before use.
Save them for future reference.
• Read these instructions carefully to understand the applications for the tool, its limitations and potential risks.
• Safety devices must be fitted correctly and function properly.
• Always check that Allan keys/spanners etc. have been removed from the tool before switching it on.
• Keep the work area clean. Cluttered work areas increase the risk of accidents and injuries.
• Do not expose the tool to water or any other liquid. Do not use power tools in damp or wet areas. Do not expose power tools to rain.
• Make sure the work area is well lit.
• Do not use power tools near flammable liquids or gases.
• Keep children and onlookers at a safe distance. Keep onlookers away from the work area.
• Do not force the tool. The tool does the job better and safer when used at the rate for which it was designed.
• Use the right tools. Use tools only for their intended purpose.
• Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose-fitting clothes, jewellery, or watches etc. that can fasten in moving parts. Wear non-slip shoes. Wear a hair
net if you have long hair.
• Wear safety glasses. Wear a dust filter mask if the work produces a lot of dust. Normal glasses or sunglasses do not provide adequate protection.
• Secure the workpiece. Secure the workpiece with a clamp, clips or vice. This is safer than using your hands and means you have both hands free to
operate the tool.
• Do not overreach. Always maintain a firm footing and good balance.
• Take care of the tool. Keep tools sharp and clean for better and safer work. Follow the instructions for lubrication and the replacement of accessories.
• Always unplug the tool from the mains when it is not in use and before carrying out service and replacing accessories.
• Avoid accidental starting. Check that the power switch is in the OFF position before plugging in the power cord or inserting the battery.
• Only use recommended accessories. The use of other accessories can result in a risk of personal injury.
• Do not stand on the tool. You could be seriously injured if the tool tips over or if you come into contact with sharp parts. You could also damage the
tool.
• Check for damaged parts. If a guard or some other part has been damaged, carefully check before using the tool that it will work properly and as
intended. Check that moving parts are properly adjusted and do not jam, and that no parts are incorrectly fitted or damaged. Check for other factors
that could affect functionality. Damaged guards or other parts must be repaired or replaced.
• Always feed the tool in the opposite direction to the direction of rotation of the cutterhead.
• Never leave the tool unattended when it is running. Switch off the tool, unplug the power cord, and wait until all moving parts have completely
stopped before leaving the tool.
• Be careful with the power cord. Never carry the tool by the power cord. Never pull the power cord to remove the plug from the mains. Keep the
power cord away from heat, oil and sharp edges.
• Check that the mains voltage corresponds to the rated voltage on the type plate.
Special safety instructions
IMPORTANT: Follow the safety instructions when working with power tools to reduce the risk of electric shock, personal injury and fire. In addition to
these instructions, you must always comply with the applicable regulations and laws concerning health, safety and the environment, as well as good
practice for work with wood processing machines.
• Use suitable safety equipment. Never modify the tool in any way.
• Do not allow children to use the tool. The tool can be used by children older than 16 years only if they are under adult supervision.
• Always check that all the safety devices are correctly fitted and in working order before use. Damaged parts must be repaired or replaced by qualified
service personnel before using the product again.
• Place the tool on a stable surface with the table horizontal, so that it cannot tip over.
• Never attempt to work on workpieces that are too large or too small for the planer.
• Make sure there are no nails, screws or other foreign objects in the workpieces.
• Check that the cutterhead is covered by the planing bit guard when in use.
• When working on thin workpieces, use suitable devices to ensure that the workpiece is correctly positioned and guided.
• Regularly check that the kickback guard is working properly.
