How to use the toaster
Put the toaster on a heat-resistant, plane surface. Plug the appliance. Before using the
toaster for the first time, operate it without bread in order to remove any impurities.
Position the timer at the wanted degree of toasting. There are 6 steps, of which 1 is the
shortest toasting cycle (the palest one) and step 6 is the longest toasting cycle (the darkest
one). The further up the scale, the longer toasting cycle. Please note that dry bread requires
a shorter toasting cycle than fresh bread. Put the slices in the slot and depress the lever until
locking.
NOTE! The lever is not locked if the toaster is not connected.
When the toasting is done, the bread will automatically pop up. The lever goes automatically
into the upper position and the toaster is also automatically switched off. If it is difficult to
get the bread out of the toaster, you may use the “high rise” function: the lever can be lifted
further, which makes it easier to pull out the bread. If you want to stop the toasting before the
time has elapsed, just press the STOP button.
Bread may burn!
Consequently, always keeps an eye on the toaster and do not put the toaster close
to or underneath curtains, kitchen cupboards and other combustible material.
The following functions can be chosen:
STOP
The lamp is lid when the toaster is on. By pressing the STOP-button the
toasting can be interrupted at any time.
DEFROST
Only use frozen bread that is made for toasting. This function makes defrosting
last longer and lets the bread be heated. The toaster is now set at defrosting
and the toasting cycle is automatically adapted accordingly. To use this
function, press the Defrost button right after the appliance has been switched
on.
REHEAT
If you want to reheat already toasted bread, you should use this function that
gives a shorter toasting cycle. To use this function press the Reheat button
right after the appliance has been switched on. The bread is reheated without
further toasting.
Be careful: The surface of the toaster gets very hot during use!
If a piece of bread gets stuck during toasting, pull out the plug and let the toaster cool off.
Another possibility is to turn upside-down the toaster and shake it carefully in order to let go
of the bread. If this fails, try to manoeuvre the bread – but
never
use metallic items and be
careful not to touch the heating element as this may be damaged, in which case the warranty
does not cover the damage. Do not use too big slices of bread, as these may get stuck in
the toaster.
