9. Manually move the print head carriage back over the capping station (push all the way to
park the carriage). Close the front cover and the maintenance station access door.
10. Check the level in the waste tank and replace the bottle if necessary.
Weekend or Extended Period Shutdown
1. Press F1 and then the right arrow key until the screen displays “Head Flushing”. Press
ENTER.
2. Fill a head flushing syringe with 30 cc of CGS 80.
3. Perform the following 4 procedures for each print head, one at a time.
4. Disconnect the tube that runs from the reservoir into the print head (Figure 2-5).

5. Connect the syringe to the male connector on this tube.
6. Inject half of the solvent into the printhead.
7. Disconnect the syringe from the male connector and reconnect the tube to the reservoir as
quickly as possible. This will keep solvent in the print head while you flush the other print
heads.
8. After flushing all the heads, perform the regular nightly shutdown procedure as described
above.
NOTE
The regular morning start up routine should be sufficient to clear the extra
solvent in the system that results from this process.
