Paice Setter PS260S Operator's Manual - Preparing For Operation
PREPARING FOR OPERATION
Fuel and oil mixture (2-stroke engines)
Inspect the fuel tank and fill with clean, fresh fuel of the
proper mixture to ensure long life of the machine. Use
the following fuel mixture:
1. For the first 20 hours:
Petrol : 2 cycle engine oil = 15 - 20 : 1
2. After 20 hours:
Petrol : 2 cycle engine oil = 25 : 1
When mixing petrol with two cycle engine oil, use only
petrol which contains no ethanol or methanol (types of
alcohol), this will help to avoid possible damage to
engine fuel lines and other engine parts.
DO NOT mix petrol and oil directly in the engine
fuel tank.
IMPORTANT: Failure to follow proper fuel mix
instructions may cause damage to the engine.
CAUTION
1. When preparing fuel mixture, mix only the amount needed
for the job you are to do.
DO NOT use fuel mixture that has been stored longer than
two months as it will cause difficult starting and poor
performance.
2. NEVER fill the fuel tank to the very top.
3. NEVER add fuel to the tank in a closed unventilated area.
4. DO NOT add fuel close to open fire or sparks.
5. Wipe off spilled fuel before starting engine.
6. DO NOT attempt to refuel a hot engine.
Checks before operation
1. Check for loose bolts, nuts and fittings.
2. Check the air cleaner for dirt and clean before
operation.
3. Check to ensure that safety guard is securely in place.
4. Prior to operating Honda 4-stroke engines, check the
oil level and continue to check after every 10 hours
of operation; top up as necessary.
SAE 10W-30 recommended for general all temperature use.
CAUTION
Using nondetergent oil or 2-stroke engine oil in a 4-stroke
engine could shorten the engine‘s service life.
