Preparation
You can power your CD player from
any of these sources:
• two AA alkaline batteries (not
supplied)
• two rechargeable AA nickel-cad-
mium batteries (RSU 11672508
not supplied)
• standard AC power using a regu-
lated AC adapter (not supplied)
• vehicle battery power using a DC
adapter (not supplied)
Note: Connecting a regulated AC or
DC adapter to the CD player when
non-rechargeable batteries are in-
stalled disconnects the batteries.
INSTALLING
BATTERIES
Your CD player requires two AA bat-
teries (not supplied) for power. For
the best performance and longest life,
we recommend RadioShack alkaline
batteries. You can also use recharge-
able nickel-cadmium batteries (RSU
11672508).
Cautions:
• Use only fresh batteries of the
required size and recommended
type.
• Do not mix old and new batteries,
different types of batteries (stan-
dard, alkaline, or rechargeable),
or rechargeable batteries of dif-
ferent capacities.
1. Press down and slide the battery
compartment cover in the direc-
tion of the arrow, then lift it up.
2. Place two AA batteries in the
compartment, as indicated by the
polarity symbols (

and –)
marked inside.
3. Replace the cover.

stops operating properly, replace the
batteries.
Warning: Dispose of old batteries
promptly and properly. Do not burn or
bury them.
Caution: If you do not plan to use the
CD player for a month or more, re-
move the batteries. Batteries can leak
chemicals that can destroy electronic
parts.

This CD player can fully charge nick-
el-cadmium batteries (RSU
11672508) in about 17 hours. You
