AlthoughProto-Sound2.0hasbeendesignedandengineeredforeaseofuse,youmay
havesomequestionsduringinitialoperation. Thefollowingtableshouldanswermost

high-speedstart-ups,Proto-Sound2.0is
programmedtostartupinneutralanytimetrack
powerhasbeenturnedoffforseveralseconds. See

Youmaynotbesendingenoughpowertothetrack
topowertheengine. Pressthethrottleupforafew
moresecondstoincreasetrackpower.
Thebatterymayhaverundown,especiallyifthe
enginehasbeeninstorageforsometime.Seethe
"Self-ChargingBatteryBack-Up"sectionofthese
instructionsforhowtotest,recharge,and(if
necessary)replace thebattery.
Coupler
Remedy
WhenItrytofirethecoupler,PSAstarts.
TheProto-Coupler won'tlettheengine
uncoupleonthefly.
Thecoupler doesnotfireorstaycoupled.
You arewaitingtoolong betweenHornbutton

Trylubricatingthecouplerknuckleandrivetwith
adrygraphitelubricant.
Thecouplerneedstobecleaned. Wipewith
denaturedalcohol(notrubbingalcohol)andlet
dry.
CabChatter

SometimestheCabChattersoundsdon't
play.
CabChatterplaysonlyinneutralatrandom
intervals.
Lock-out
Remedy
Ican'tgettheenginetorun afterIpowerup
thetransformer. Itsitsstillwiththediesel
andcompressorsoundsrunning.
Theenginewon'tlockintoforward,neutral,
orreverse.
Theenginemaybe lockedintotheneutral
position. Followtheprocedureinthe"Lockintoa
Direction"section tounlocktheengine'sdirection.
Enginespeedmustbebelow10scalemph
(approx.10voltsorlessinconventionalmode).
