Installing Door/Window Sensors (Contacts)
Placement of Door/Window Sensors
1. Remove the adhesive backing and mount the sensor on the knob side (not the hinge) of the door, on or close to
the top of the door.
2. Remove the adhesive backing on the magnet and adhere it to the door frame next to the contact no more than a
finger width apart.
3. Repeat this process on all doors.
4. Similarly place window contacts: Position the contact on the window and the magnet no more than a finger width
apart on the frame in such a way that when the window opens, the magnet and contact do not touch. Choose a
location on the window and frame that does not impede opening.
5. Open each door and window to test connection to the panel; each zone should annunciate at the control panel.
*Note: If a sensor fails to test, see Troubleshooting Section.
6. Exit CHIME mode by repeating the steps in Item 2 of Alarm Panel Set Up above.
Installation of Motion Detector
1. Using a standard screwdriver open the motion detector to activate
the “walk test” mode which lasts 10 minutes. (Note: In walk test mode all transmissions will be sent as they occur.
During normal operation, only one (1) transmission sequence will occur within a 3 minute time period; this is to
conserve battery life.)
2. The motion detector should be installed approximately 7.5 to 8 feet from the floor in
a corner or flat wall of a high traffic area. Avoid aiming at heaters, air conditioners,
outside windows or the sun.
3. Perform a walk test on the motion detector. The LED will blink every time the motion detector
has detected motion. After 10 minutes the motion detector will go back to normal operations. If an additional 10
minutes is needed open the motion detector again as in Step 1.
Installing Wireless Smoke / Heat / CO Detectors
1. Determine the best location for the detector. Refer to enclosed manufacturer’s instructions for recommended
locations to mount detectors.
2. Once a suitable location has been determined, install the mounting base on the ceiling or on the wall (if local
ordinances permit). Use the two screws and anchors provided.
3. Turn the detector in a clockwise direction in the mounting base until it clicks into place.
4. Test the detector immediately after completing the installation (as described in the
TESTING section of this Guide).
Installing Wireless Glass Break Detector
For the best performance, select a mounting location that is
a. Within 25 feet of the protected glass
b. Within clear view of the protected glass
c. At least 6.5 feet from the floor
d. At least 3 feet away from forced air vents
e. Avoid mounting the glass break detector on
the same wall as the glass
To mount the detector:
1. Using flat-‐bladed screwdriver, open the detector.
2. Using the detector mounting holes as a template, mark mounting locations on the ceiling or wall.
3. Install wall anchors for the mounting screws.
4. Secure to the wall or ceiling, oriented so the microphone has the best line-‐of-‐sight to the protected glass.
5. Close and secure the detector front cover.
