Making a Telephone Call
Dial the desired number, then pick up the handset. If
you are loading entries from the telephone book, it is
possible to edit the numbers after you have loaded them.
For example, you can add or delete prefi xed numbers or
direct dial numbers.
To dial without lifting up the handset, press
¼
. You
will hear the dial tone from the loudspeaker; the dialling
process will commence immediately.
You can also lift up the handset fi rst, then dial a number;
the connection will be made immediately. At this stage,
any numbers that have been incorrectly entered can no
longer be changed.

Move the cursor on the display with

Delete individual numbers and letters with
C

. To interrupt an operation in progress
and return to the root menu without saving, press
STOP
.
Redialling

e last ten numbers dialled are stored in the redial list.

the number, press OK. Move the cursor with

use C to delete individual digits.

The Telephone Book
With the

key, you can access the telephone book
functions. You can store new entries, search for entries as
well as set and edit groups. Your fax machine’s memory
will hold approximately 200 entries; the exact number
depends on the length of the names and numbers. Th

entries can be up to 20 characters in length.
Saving New Entries

Enter a name using the letter keyboard. To enter
capital letters, press

and the desired key simultane-
ously. You may add a space by pressing the

key.
Th
e symbols are displayed directly above the letter
keys. To enter symbols, press the blue key and the
corresponding letter key simultaneously. It is not
possible to insert a symbol in the fi rst space for a
name. Confi rm with OK.

Enter the number using the number pad. Press the
blue key along with Q for a plus sign; use the
½
key
to add a space. Confi rm with OK.

Select the speed for fax transmissions to this recipi-
ent. Normally you can select the highest speed. When
poor connection quality is known beforehand—with
an overseas fax recipient, for example—you should
select a slower speed in order to save time and tele-
phone costs for the automatic adjustment.
