TheACoutputofthisinverterisavailablethroughaNEMA5-20RGfCIDuplexRecepta-
cle.TheNeutralslotofthisreceptacle(longerrectangularslot)isinternallybondedto
the metal chassis of the inverter.
ThereisaGreenindicatorlightthatwillbelightedwhentheGfCIisoperatingnormally.
ThelightwillswitchoffiftheGfCIistripped.
TheGfCIisprovidedwiththefollowingbuttons:
- Reset Button:IncasetheGfCIistripped,itcanberesetbypressingthe
“ResetButton”.
NoTE:fortheResetButtontooperate,theinverterhastobeinoNcondition.
- test Button:ThisbuttonisusedtotestiftheGfCIisoperatingnormally.TesttheGfCI
periodically to ensure that it is operating normally.
TheGfCIwilltripduetothefollowingconditions:
- Leakageorgroundfault
- NeutraltoGroundbonding(connection)ontheloadsideoftheGfCI

DonotfeedtheoutputfromtheGfCIreceptacletoaBreakerPanel/Load
CenterwheretheNeutralisbondedtotheEarthGround.ThiswilltriptheGfCI.

forthisapplication,useaTransferSwitchthathasDoublePole,DoubleThrowContacts
likeinSamlexAmerica,Inc.TransferSwitchModelNo.STS-30.ThistypeofTransfer
SwitchwillbeabletoswitchboththeHotandtheNeutralandwillpreventtrippingof
theGfCIduetoNeutraltoGroundbondintheUtilitypower:
- feed utility power and output power from the inverter to the two inputs of the Trans-
fer relay
- feedtheoutputoftheTransferSwitchtoaSub-PaneltofeedACloadsrequiring
backuppower
- Donotbond(connect)theNeutralandtheGroundintheSub-Panel
- WhenUtilitypowerisavailable,the2polesoftheTransferSwitchwillconnecttheHot
andNeutraloftheUtilitypowertotheHotandNeutralintheSub-Panel.TheNeutral
oftheSub-PanelwillbebondedtotheEarthGroundthroughtheMainUtilitySupply
Panel.AstheNeutraloftheinverterwillbeisolatedfromtheNeutraloftheutility
power,theNeutraloftheGfCIoutputwillnotbebondedtotheEarthGroundand
theGfCIwillnottrip
- WhentheUtilitypowerfailsorisinterrupted,theHotandtheNeutraloftheGfCIwill
