Please note that the oN/off switch is not switching the high power battery
inputcircuit.PartsoftheDCsidecircuitwillstillbealiveevenwhentheswitch
is in the offposition.Hence,disconnecttheDCandACsidesbeforeworking
on any circuits connected to the inverter.
Whentheinverterisswitchedon,theStatusLED(2,fig.6.1)willturnGREEN.ThisLED
indicatesthattheinverterisoperatingnormally.Undernormaloperatingconditions,
ACoutputvoltagewillnowbeavailableattheGfCIDuplexReceptacle(1).TheGreen
indicatorlightontheGfCIwillbelighted.
SwitchontheACload(s).The StatusLED(2)andtheindicationlightontheGfCIshould
remainGREENfornormaloperationoftheload.
temperature controlled cooling Fan
The cooling fan is thermostatically controlled. Temperature of a critical hot spot inside
the inverter is monitored to activate the fan and the over temperature shut-down.
Whenthetemperatureofthishotspotreaches48°C,thefanisswitchedoN. The fan
will be automatically switched offoncethehotspotcoolsdownto42°C.Pleasenote
that the fan may not come on at low loads or if the ambient temperature is cooler. This
is normal.
indications For normal operation
WhentheinverterisoperatingnormallyandsupplyingACload(s),theStatusLED(2)
andtheindicationlightontheGfCIwillbeGREEN.Incaseofabnormaloperation,the
StatusLED(2)willturnoRANGE,theGREENindicationlightontheGfCIwillbeoff
and buzzer may sound. Please see under "Protection Against Abnormal Conditions" for
more details.
no Load Draw (idle current)
When the oN/offswitchisturnedon,allthecircuitryinsidetheinverterbecomesalive
andtheACoutputismadeavailable.Inthiscondition,evenwhennoloadisbeingsup-
plied(or,ifaloadisconnectedbuthasbeenswitchedoff),theinverterdrawsasmall
amountofcurrentfromthebatteriestokeepthecircuitryaliveandreadytodeliverthe
requiredpowerondemand.Thisiscalledtheidlecurrentorthenoloaddraw.Hence,
whentheloadisnotrequiredtobeoperated,turnoff the oN/off switch on the in-
verter to prevent unnecessary current drain from the battery.
