AUTO – ON / mains switch
Switches
,
and
determine the sub-woofer's
behaviour when switched on and off:
MAINS SWITCH / MAINS SOCKET:
The mains switch acts as a mains isolation switch, i.e. it
switches the sub-woofer off permanently. If you will not
be using the speaker for a long period, the mains switch
should always be switched off, or the mains lead
disconnected.
AUTO / ON:
This switch either activates the sub-woofer's automatic
power-on circuit ('AUTO' setting) or switches it on
permanently ('ON' setting).
'AUTO' setting
•
The speaker switches on automatically as soon as:
-
a switching voltage is present at the switch input
of the DIN IN socket (in this case switch
must
be set to the 'CTRL' setting)
-
a music signal is present (in this case switch
must be at the '
Ø
Ø
Ø
Ø'
setting)
•
The
LED on the front panel glows green.
•
If the switching voltage at the DIN IN socket declines,
or about 60 minutes after the music signal ceases,
the sub-woofer automatically switches to stand-by
mode; - the LED on the front panel glows red.
'ON' setting
If the switch is set to the 'ON' position, the sub-woofer
remains switched on permanently, regardless of the
input signal.
Note:
The 'ON' setting is suitable for use with a switched mains
power supply socket.
CTRL
This switch defines the signal to which the sub-woofer's
automatic power-on circuit responds.
In the 'CTRL' setting the sub-woofer receives the power-
on signal via the 8-pin DIN socket 'DIN IN (SC
LINK
)'; in
the '
Ø
Ø
Ø
Ø
' setting the presence of a music signal at the
input sockets 'HI LEVEL IN' or 'CINCH IN' triggers the
automatic power-on circuit.
Note:
This switch only has any effect if the automatic power-on
circuit is activated, i.e. switch
must be set to the
'AUTO' position.
HI LEVEL OUT
If the sub-woofer is connected to a power amplifier (see
HI LEVEL IN), satellite loudspeakers can be connected
to these speaker outputs.
