Many factors can affect reception quality. You should place the Tuner near a window facing your
local Freeview transmitter. But other factors, such as the composition of the walls of your house or
reflective coating on your windows, can affect signal strength. If the reception quality is less than
satisfactory, try moving the Tuner to another area of your house, and/or move the aerial to a 45-
degree angle. When you have placed your Tuner in the best location, press Next.
Connecting the Tuner to your tablet
Now that you have installed the TabletTV Plus app on your tablet and positioned your Tuner
correctly, you are ready to connect the Tuner to your tablet over Wi-Fi.
TabletTV Plus lets you choose how you want to watch TV: either through your home Wi-Fi network
(Home Network Pairing) or through the Tuner’s own Wi-Fi signal (Direct Pairing)
.
!
Use Home Network Pairing to connect your Tuner to your home Wi-Fi network, then select
your home Wi-Fi network on your tablet to begin watching TabletTV Plus. You’ll be able to
watch, record and playback Live TV, access the Internet and view the latest TV Guide
information. Choose this method if you want to watch TV in your home, and/or on your big-
screen TV. (Depending on the signal strength of your router, you might also be able to
watch television on your tablet outdoors, while connected to your home network.) Note that
your Home Network is limited to one location: if you want to make a new Home Network
connection, you’ll have to disconnect from the previous one.
!
Use Direct Pairing to connect your Tuner to your tablet using the Tuner’s integrated Wi-Fi
radio. As with Home Network Pairing, you’ll be able to watch, record, and view your
favourite Freeview TV programmes, and view TV Guide information. Choose this method if
you want to watch TV away from your home, or outdoors.
Please read these instructions carefully before continuing the set-up procedure.
