The advanced setup procedures are accessed by pressing the SETUP button once “
” appears in
Display Panel), followed by pressing the “+” and “-” buttons together. Each press of the SETUP button will
advance through the following four procedures:
•
Center Channel Tracking
•
Maximum Manual Volume Setting
•
Phase Setting
•
Disable Amplifiers
Center Channel Tracking
When “C” is displayed, the center channel volume tracking can be enabled or disabled with the “+” or “-”
button. When “-C” is displayed, center channel volume tracking is disabled. The default setting
(recommended) is with Center Channel Tracking enabled.
With Center Channel Tracking enabled, a small portion of the center image will be recreated through the
main speakers. In movie playback there can be times when only dialog is coming from the center speaker
while all other speakers are inactive. In order to continue tracking the main volume control setting on the
receiver/integrated amp, a small portion of center information is down-mixed to the main channels. This
down-mixed portion of the center image (into the main channels) is tracked by VTRACK™.
Maximum Manual Volume Setting
When the DPA-P87 is in the manual volume mode (see the section titled Front Panel Controls - Volume Sync)
the master volume setting on the receiver defines the main left and right speaker’s maximum volume.
To match this volume setting on the center and surround channels, use the “+” and “-” button for
adjustment. Once balanced, the maximum manual volume level is established.
1.
Press the SETUP button until “TRIM” is displayed. The main speaker icons “
” will
alternatively be displayed with the surround speaker icons “
”.
2.
Manually change the volume on the receiver/integrated amp when the main speaker icons
“
” are displayed to set the maximum volume desired. Use the “+” and “-” buttons to
match the volume level of the center and surround speakers when the surround speaker icons
“
” are displayed.
