(Transmission,Center,andReflection).Eachofthemirrorpositionswillfocusthelight
ontothepositionofthesample.ThethreedifferentmirrorpositionsaremarkedT
(transmittanceslot),C(centermount),andR(rearreflectanceslot)inFigure3.Thus,
themirrorneedstobemovedtotherightpositiondependingontheplacementofyour
sample.ThecablefortheDRAcangetinthewayofmovingthismirror.Turnoffthe
Caryfirst,ifyouneedtounplugtheDRAtomovethemirror.
Forthesmallsamplesetup(seesmallsamplediscussionbelow)theM3mirroris
replacedbythesmallsamplekitmirror(M3SSK)intheTposition.Lens(L2)mountsin
frontofthesample(seeFigure4).Therearethreelensesthatcanbeusedagainforthe
threepositonsmarkedasT,CorR.
Eachtimethesampleconfigurationischanged,theopticsneedtoberealigned,such
thatthesampleandreferencebeamsarenotclippedattheentrancetotheintegrating
sphereandthatthesamplebeamiscenteredonthesample.
1. WiththetopdoortotheDRAclosed,underthe
commands

andthentypein550nm.Whenyoudarkentheroomlights,youshouldseea
greenbeam,whichyoucanusetoalignthebeamontothesample(Alternatively,
ifyouhavetroubleseeingthebeam:Blockthesampleandreferencebeamsfrom
enteringtheintegratingsphere.Underthecommandsmenugotoalignto
switchthegratingstozeroordertosendwhitelightintotheDRA.Thewhite
lightshouldnotentertheintegratingsphere)
2. Mostofthemirrorshavetwoknobs,whichyoucanrotatetoadjustthevertical
