Configuring An IP Camera For Recording
The first step to setting up motion recording is to make sure the software is setup for it. To enter
the Record Schedule Setting go to System Settings ( ) then Record Schedule Setting on the left.
Here we can select when we would like the cameras to record on motion or a schedule. By default the
system is setup to do Motion Rec. ( ) in Purple. To change this select either Normal Rec. ( )
in Green or Normal&Motion Rec. ( ) in Blue then drag the cursor while left clicking over the time
frame you would like to set. Normal Recording does recording full time and Normal&Motion
Recording is full time recording but shows you where there is motion on the playback time line. Below
is an example of a camera recording on motion from 8am-5pm then recording Normal&Motion from
5pm-8am.
After the record schedule is set or if you just wish to leave everything on motion we can enter the
camera's settings to setup it's motion properties. To do this click the Channel Setting ( ) button at
the bottom of the main screen. Go to Motion Detection on the left. Here the check box for Enable
should be checked. Once it is checked you will see a yellow outline around your video. This will flash
red when motion is detected. To set this area you can click the Clear All button and draw your own
area on the video. To adjust the Sensitivity use the scroll bar next to it. Once complete you can copy
these settings to other cameras or set them up individually. Hit Apply&Save then Exit. This camera is
now setup for motion recording! In the main screen under the device list you should see this running
man ( ) when motion is detected and ( ) when it is recording on schedule. If it is not recording
there will be no icon next to the camera name.
