The firmware refers to the operating software designed for your CD-R/RW drive. It
is stored in drive’s flash memory, so that it can be erased and rewritten.
To enhance operation reliability, YAMAHA will continue improving the firmware
and make updates to it available. You can find information about the latest firmware

Checking the Firmware Version of the CRW2200UX Drive
For Windows 98 Second Edition/Me
Select Control Panel, System, Device Manager, YAMAHA CRW2200E
Properties, and open the Settings tab.
For Windows 2000 Professional
The firmware version cannot be displayed, using Device Manager.
Use your CD writing software to check the firmware version.
