2.5 PORTABLE UNIT
2.5.1 SWITCHING A PORTABLE UNIT ON
•Switchtheportableunitonbypressingthe[M]button.
Inaheadset,connectedintheheadsetconnectorontheunit,avoiceconfirmation
“POWER ON”isgivenandtheLEDonthe
unitisflashinggreen,showingthattheunitisloggingontothebase.
Whentheunitisreadyforuse,avoicemessage
“BASE #1, GROUP #1”isgivenandtheLEDissteadygreen.
Notice: Allportableunitsnormallystartinlistenonlymodeingroup1.
Atfirststartupavoicemessage
“SEARCHING”isgiven.WhenabaseisfoundavoicemessageBASE (number), GROUP 1”
isgiven.Whenrestartingaportableunit,whichisprogrammedtobeabletoworkwithmorethanonebase,itwilltrytolog
ontothelastusedbase.
2.5.2 SWITCHING A PORTABLE UNIT OFF
•Switchtheportableunitoffbypressingandholdingthe[M]buttonforapproximately2seconds.
Avoiceconfirmation
“POWER OFF”isgivenandthe LEDisturnedoff.
Iftheunitisstillsearchingforabasewhenswitchingoff,avoiceconfirmation
“WARNING, POWER OFF”isgiven.
2.5.3 REGISTERING A PORTABLE UNIT ON A BASE
EachportableunitisregisteredtoatleastonebaseunittobepartofaDECT-ComIIconference.
Theunitissearchingforbases.Avoicemessage“
SEARCHING”isgiven.
•WiththeportableunitinLISTEN-ONLYandVOLUMEmode,doublepress[M]buttontoenterBASE SELECTmode.
Aportableunitin
BASE SELECTmodeisindicatedbyflashingLED.
•Whenabaseisselected,exitBASE SELECTmodebybrieflypressing[MODE]button.
Avoiceconfirmation
BASE (number), GROUP 1”isgiven.

2.5.4 LOGGING ON A PORTABLE UNIT TO A BASE
Therearetwoversionsoflogon:
1.Atfirstpoweron,thebaseunitwillallowanyportableunittologon.(See2.1.4)
2.Atnextstartupyouwillautomaticallybeloggedontothebase.
Whenthelogonsequenceisfinished,theLEDontheunitisfixedgreenandavoicemessage
“BASE (number), GROUP 1”
isgiven,confirmingthattheportableunitisloggedonasalisten-onlytothebaseandgroupwiththegivennumbers.
nIf no confirming message is given; check that the base unit is switched on and in range!
n If the message “WARNING, SUBSCRIPTION EMPTY” is given; there is no base unit registered to log on to.
n If the messages “SIGNAL LOW, OUT OF RANGE” followed by another “OUT OF RANGE” is given; the portable unit has no
connection with the base unit.
