USE
PRIOR TO FIRST USE / AFTER
PROLONGED PERIOD OF NON-USE
Do not use the barbecue before you have
read, understood and checked all informa-
tion in this manual.
Ensure that:
• Thebarbecueiscorrectlyinstalled
• Thereisnoleakinthegassupply
(see‘Leakagetest’)
• Theburnersarecorrectlyinstalled,
the venturi tubes are properly placed
over the openings of the gas valves
(Fig.D),andtherearenoobstruc-
tions(seesafetyinformationand
cleaning of the burners)
• Noneofthegassupplyhosescan
comeintocontactwithahotsurface
• Yourbarbecueisinstalledinasafe
place

LIGHTING THE BURNERS
Prior to lighting the burners, all checks and
proceduresdetailedinthechapter‘Before
thefirstuse’musthavebeencarriedout.
• Thelidofthebarbecuemustalways
beopenwhenyoulighttheburner(s)
• Donotbenddirectlyoverthebarbe-
cuewhenlightingtheburner(s)
• Thecontrolknobsofthebarbecue
mustbe‘OFF’.Slowlyopenthegas
cylinder valve. Before opening the
controlknobofoneburner,waitap-
prox.10secondstoallowtogasto
stabilize
• Important:firstlightthemiddlebur-
ner
• Assoonasoneburnerhasbeen
lighted, you only need to put the con-
trolknoboftheotherburner(s)inthe
position‘HIGH’tolightthem.
• Nevertrytolightallburnersatonce

LIGHTING THE BURNERS WITH THE
IGNITER
The battery is not supplied as standard.
• Openthelidofthebarbecue
• Openthegascylindervalve.
• Presstheigniteruntilyouhear
sparks
• Holdingdowntheigniter,pressthe
control knob of the middle burner
andturnto‘HIGH’
• Iftheburnerdoesnotlightafter3
attempts, disconnect the gas and
wait5minutesbeforetryingagain.
Thiswillallowtheaccumulatedgas
to escape. Try again, repeating the
above steps.
• Iftheburnerstilldoesnotlight,read
thechapter‘TroubleshootingGuide’
to determine the cause and the
remedy, or use a match as described
below.
LIGHTING THE BURNERS WITH A
MATCH
Left and right at the bottom of the burner
boxisasmallopeningthatcanbeusedto
lighttheburnerswithamatch,iftheelec-
tronicigniterdoesnotwork.(Fig.G)
• Openthelidofthebarbecue
• Placeamatchinthematchholder
provided(Fig.G)
• Holdaburningmatchthroughthe
hole,approx.13mmfromtheburner
• Openthegascylindervalve.
• Pushtherequiredcontrolknoband
turnto‘HIGH’.Theburnershould
lightwithin5seconds.Ifnot,turnthe
controlknoboffandwait5minutes
toallowthegastoescape.
• Repeatsteps1through5.Ifthe
burner still does not light after 3
attempts,readthechapter‘Trouble-
shootingGuide’

LIGHTING THE OTHER BURNERS
• Assoonasthefirstburnerhasbeen
lighted, you only need to put the con-
trolknoboftheotherburner(s)inthe
position‘HIGH’tolightthem.
LIGHTING THE SIDE BURNER USING
THE IGNITER
First open the lid of the side burner.
To light the side burner, use the igniter on
the control panel and the control knob on
the side table.
• Presstheigniteruntilyouhear
sparks.
• Holdingdowntheigniter,pressthe
control knob of the side burner and
turnto‘HIGH’
• Repeatanumberoftimesifthe
burner does not light immediately.
• Iftheburnerdoesnotlightafter
5 seconds, turn the control knob to
‘OFF’andwait5minutestoallowthe
gas to escape.
• Repeatsteps1through3.Ifthe
burner still does not light, read the
chapter‘TroubleshootingGuide’or
useamatchasdescribedbelow.
Note:
• themaximumloadofthesideburner
is 9 kg!
• themaximumdiameterofthecoo-
king vessel is 220 mm

• Pushthecontrolknoboftheside
burnerandturnto‘HIGH’.Thebur-
nershouldlightwithin5seconds.If
not,turnthecontrolknob‘OFF’and
wait5minutestoallowthegasto
escape.
• Repeatsteps1through3.Ifthe
burner still does not light, read the
chapter‘TroubleshootingGuide’
to determine the cause and the
remedy.

LVISUAL CHECK OF THE FLAMES
If the flames of the burners jump out of the
burnerboxwhenthebarbecueisinuse,
immediately turn off the control knobs. Wait
5minutestoallowthegastoescapebefore
relighting the barbecue. Read the chapter
‘TroubleshootingGuide’iftheproblem
persists.
