INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the Cabletron Systems
BRIM-W6 User’s Guide
. This manual
describes features, explains installation procedures, and provides
specifications for the Cabletron Systems Wide Area Network (WAN)
Bridge/Router Interface Module (BRIM). The BRIM-W6 resides in, and
provides additional connectivity/functionality to, various Cabletron
Media Interface Modules (MIMs) and standalone hubs.

USING THIS MANUAL
Read through this manual completely to familiarize yourself with its
content and to gain an understanding of the features and capabilities of
the BRIM-W6. You should have a general working knowledge of the
following data communications networks and their physical layer
components before using the BRIM-W6:
