cooktop InstallatIon
cauTIon
To prevent damage to the gas pressure regulator, install the
regulator only after the cooktop is mounted in its permanent
position.
Lower the cooktop into the cut-out while feeding the electrical
•
cord into the utility cut-out. Center the cooktop in the cut-out.
Secure the cooktop to the countertop utilizing the two (2)
•
hold-down bolts and flat washers provided. Do not over-
tighten the bolts.
IMPorTanT: Do not fasten or seal the cooktop to the
countertop using glue or caulk. The unit must be readily
removable for service. The warranty does not cover
damage due to improper installation.
Gas Line connection
WarnInG
Do not apply excessive pressure when tightening gas
•
connections and fittings.
Do not use Teflon tape or plumber’s putty on gas flex line
•
connections.
Turn all cooktop control valves to the
•
oFF position. Turn
on the gas supply and check all lines and connections for
leaks using a soap and water solution. Do not use a flame
to check for leaks.
The maximum gas supply pressure to the regulator must
•
never exceed 1/2 pound per square inch (psi) or 3.5kPa.
The cooktop and shut-off valve must be disconnected
from the gas supply piping during any pressure testing
exceeding 1/2 psi (3.5kPa).
The
•
cooktop must be isolated from the gas supply piping by
closing the shut-off valve during any pressure testing at or
below 1/2 psi (3.5 kPa).
noTe: The gas pressure regulator is pre-set at the factory
for the type of gas intended for use with the appliance. To
verify that the appliance is compatible with the type of gas
available, check the cooktop data plate on the under side
of the chassis. Cooktops intended for use with LP gas will
have “LP” as a part of the model number. Consult your
dealer if the cooktop is not compatible with the type of gas
supplied.
Install the regulator upstream from the pipe nipple, between
•
the shut-off valve and the appliance. Mount it as close as
possible to the gas inlet on the cooktop for best performance.
The 3/4” male NPT gas inlet for the cooktop is located on the
bottom, at the right rear of the chassis. Ensure that the arrow
on the regulator points in the direction of the gas flow towards
the cooktop.
Complete connection of the gas supply to the cooktop by
•
installing 1/2 inch flexible gas line (not included with the
cooktop) between the pressure regulator and the gas shut-off
valve. The cooktop has a 3/4” (19mm) diameter pipe nipple
inlet.
