1. Introduction
Overview
The i-on16 is the control unit for a wirefree alarm
system intended for domestic and light commercial
use.
The control unit comprises an end station and
separate keypad.
The end station has an ABS plastic case which
contains the radio transceiver, power supply and
backup battery. Connected to the end station by
standard alarm cable is the keypad.
The i-on16 at release 4 uses i-kp01 keypads with
software revision 2.0 onwards. The keypad allows
the end user to set and unset the system, and the
installer to configure the control unit. The keypad
also contains an integral proximity tag reader,
allowing end users to control the system without
having to remember access codes.
Note that to work correctly the i-on16 must be fitted
with at least one wired keypad.
There are three other types of keypad available for
connection to the i-on16:
KEY-K01
This keypad has no internal prox
reader, and is supplied in a square

A range of wireless peripherals is available for
operation with the control unit. These include a door
contact/universal transmitter, a passive infra red
