Power to the ARX-2500 is not controlled by software. Power is toggled On or
Off using the power switch. To fully remove power from the ARX-2500, you
must turn this power switch to the Off position and remove both power cords.
Standby power is supplied even when the power switch is off.
DANGER
In the event that AC power must be removed from the system, disconnect the power
cords before servicing the unit to avoid electric shock.

On the back of the ARX-2500, to the left of the power switch, attach the
power cords to the power supplies. Attach one power supply to one AC line
feed and the second power supply to the other.

To turn on the ARX-2500, manually toggle the power switch to the On (1)
position.

Attach the serial console cable to the serial console port. See the following
figure for the location of the seial console port. Use the included cross-over
cable and the RJ-to-DB9 adapter.

Set the console-terminal parameters to match those on the serial console port.

Setting the Console-Terminal Parameters
Before booting the ARX-2500, set the console-terminal parameters to match those
on the serial console port (on the switch) as follows:

9600 baud rate (default)
•
XON-XOFF flow control
•
8 data bits
•
1 stop bit parity
Perform the initial configuration on the ARX-2500, as described in Launching the
Initial-Boot Wizard.
Launching the Initial-Boot Wizard
Before you begin, ensure that you have properly configured the console terminal
settings. To review the console settings,see Setting the Console-Terminal
Parameters.
When the ARX-2500 powers up for the first time, the system boots from the
internal hard drives and the boot wizard starts automatically. The wizard prompts
for basic configuration and security information. After some boot-up messages, the
following prompt appears:

Press the Enter key and complete the steps in the initial-boot wizard. For detailed
