Choose a suitable location and if the ceiling plate cannot be screwed directly into a
ceiling joist, use a 50mmx100mm (2”x4”) timber brace, which must be screw fixed to
the adjacent joists.

Use the long wood screws supplied to secure the mounting bracket to the selected
fixing point. Ensure that at least 40mm of the screw is threaded into the support.

The wiring can now be installed ready for connection to the terminal block in the
ceiling canopy of the fan.

WIRING REQUIREMENTS AT THE TERMINAL BLOCK

NON REMOTE FAN
- Switched active for fan from speed control plate to F.A.
- Switched active for light from light switch L.A.
- Neutral to N
- Earth to E
¾
WALL PLATE
For a non remote fan, the following is required at the switch plate (No. 14 –
Fig.3).
- Active 'in' supply (loop between light switch and speed control)
- Switched active 'out' from speed control to F.A.
- Switched active from light switch to L.A.
NOTE:

AN ISOLATION SWITCH SHOULD BE INSTALLED SOMEWHERE IN THE
FIXED WIRING OF A REMOTE FAN IN CASE REMOTE IS LOST, OR FOR
SERVICING OF THE FAN.

REMOTE FANS CANNOT BE CONTROLLED BY A SPEED WALLSWITCH or
LIGHT WALL SWITCH. REMOTE SOLD SEPERATELY.
13.
INSTALLING THE FAN
The fan is partially assembled.
¾ Remove ceiling canopy
(No. 1 – Fig. 3) by
loosening the 2 screws with
slots.
¾
Slide the ceiling canopy off.
¾ Install mounting bracket
(Fig. 1) to roof fixings using
long screws into timber.
NOTE:
¾
DO NOT JUST ATTACH TO PLASTER AS THE FAN WILL NOT BE WELL
SUPPORTED AND MAY FALL.
¾
PLACE WIRED IN TERMINAL BLOCK – (SEE POINT 11, 12 FOR REQUIRED
WIRING.
