4.3. Calibration procedure
Calibration is not normally needed to be done. Spare part cards are calibrated in factory and will keep
their range while installed in to the machine.
If calibration parameters are accidentally modified, they can be restored by selecting parameter FAC in
the end of calibration menu. See technical information elsewhere in this manual. If there is faced
problems in the validation or calibration procedure please contact to
technicalservice@kemppi.com
Current can be measured with clamp meter and voltage with digital multimeter.
Calibration can be done with welding or by using load bank.
Note that voltage calibration can be done
only if load bank is used. If this is not possible, simply skip the voltage calibration steps 5 and 13.
1. Set current set value to 50A.
2. Enter the calibration menu by pressing
“Remote” button as long as entering to CAL menu
3. Start welding or switch on the load.
4. Select Primary Current Offset Factor (
COF
) w
ith potentiometer and press “Remote” button shortly
to select it. Adjust value with potentiometer so that measured current value equals the set value
(50A). Exit the parameter by pressing
“Remote” button shortly.
5. Select Voltage Offset Factor (
UOF
) with potentiometer and press
“Remote” button shortly to
select it. Adjust value with potentiometer so that measured voltage equals the value in the panel
display. Exit the parameter by pressing
“Remote” button shortly.
Note that this parameter can
be adjusted only if used load bank. The voltage varies too much while welding.
6. Select Display Current Offset Factor (
dOF
) with potentiometer and press
“Remote” button shortly
to select it. Adjust value with potentiometer so that measured current equals the value in the
panel display. Exit the parameter by pressing
“Remote” button shortly.
7. Stop welding or cut out the load in the load bank.
8. Exit the calibration mode by long pressing the
“Remote” button
9. Set current set value to 300A.
10. Enter the calibration menu by pressing
“Remote” button as long as entering to CAL menu
11. Start welding or switch on the load.
12. Select Primary Current Offset Scale (
CSc
) with potentiometer and press
“Remote” button shortly
to select it. Adjust value with potentiometer so that measured current value equals the set value
(300A). Exit the parameter by pressing
“Remote” button shortly.
13. Select Voltage Offset Scale (
USc
) with potentiometer and press
“Remote” button shortly to select
it. Adjust value with potentiometer so that measured voltage equals the value in the panel display.
Exit the parameter by pressing
“Remote” button shortly.
Note that this parameter can be
adjusted only if used load bank. The voltage varies too much while welding.
14. Select Display Current Scale Factor (
dSc
) with potentiometer and press
“Remote” button shortly
to select it. Adjust value with potentiometer so that measured current equals the value in the
panel display. Exit the parameter by pressing
“Remote” button shortly.
15. Stop welding or cut out the load in the load bank.
16. Exit the calibration mode by long pressing the
“Remote” button
