DONOTOPENTHEMONITOR.There
arenouserserviceablepartsinsideand
opening or removing covers may ex-
pose you to dangerous shock hazards
orotherrisks.Referallservicingtoqual-
ifiedservicepersonnel.

Donotspillanyliquidsintothecabinet
oruseyourmonitornearwater.
❖
Do not insert objects of any kind into
the cabinet slots, as they may touch
dangerousvoltagepoints,whichcanbe
harmful or fatal or may cause electric
shock,fireorequipmentfailure.
❖
Donotplaceanyheavyobjectsonthe
powercord.Damagetothecordmay
causeshockorfire.
❖
Donotplacethisproductonasloping
orunstablesurface,asthemonitormay
fall,causingseriousdamage.

Do not place any objects onto the
monitor and do not use the monitor
outdoors.
❖
The inside of the fluorescent tube lo-
catedwithintheLCDmonitorcontains
mercury. Please follow the bylaws or
rulesofyourmunicipalitytodisposeof
thetubeproperly.

Donotbendpowercord.
❖
Do not use monitor in high tempera-
tures,humid,dusty,oroilyareas.
❖
Donotcoverventonmonitor.
Immediatelyunplugyourmonitorfromthe
outletandreferservicingtoqualifiedper-
sonnelunderthefollowingconditions:

Whenthepowersupplycordorplugis
damaged.
❖
If liquid has been spilled, or objects
havefallenintothemonitor.
❖
Ifthemonitorhasbeenexposedtorain
orwater.
❖
Ifthemonitorhasbeendroppedorthe
cabinetdamaged.
❖
Ifthemonitordoesnotoperatenormal-
lybyfollowingoperatinginstructions.
❖
Ifglassisbroken,handlewithcare.
❖
Ifthemonitoranditsglassarebroken,
donotcomeincontactwiththeliquid
crystalandhandlewithcare.
Please pay heed to the following guide-
lines:

Allow adequate ventilation around the
monitorsothatheatcanproperlydissi-
pate.Donotblockventilatedopenings
orplacethemonitorneararadiatoror
otherheatsources.Donotputanything
ontopofmonitor.
❖
The power cable connector is the pri-
mary means of detaching the system
from the power supply. The monitor
should be installed close to a power
outletwhichiseasilyaccessible.
❖
Savepackagingfortransporting.When
moving the monitor, handle with ex-
tremecare.
❖
PleasebeawarethatLCDTechnology
mayexperienceaphenomenonknown
as Image Persistence. Image Persis-
tence occurs when a residual impres-
sion or, “ghost”, of a previous image
remains visible on the screen. Unlike
CRTmonitors,imagepersistenceisnot
permanentforLCD.However,constant
imagesbeingdisplayedforalongpe-
riodoftimeshouldbeavoided.Toal-
leviate image persistence, turn off the
monitorforaslongasthepreviousim-
agewasdisplayed.Forexample,ifan
imagewasleftstaticforonehour,the
monitor should be turned off for one
hour to allow the impression to fade
away.

LCD Monitor with a 220-240V AC
powersourceinEurope,usethepower
cordprovidedwiththemonitor.
❖
IntheUK,aBSapprovedpowercord
withamouldedplughasaBlack(five
Amps) fuse installed for use with this
equipment.

Ifapowercordisnotsuppliedwiththis
equipmentpleasecontactyoursupplier.
❖
When operating the LaCie 500 Se-
ries LCD Monitor with a 220-240V
AC power source in Australia, use the
powercordprovidedwiththemonitor.
Ifapowercordisnotsuppliedwiththis
equipmentpleasecontactyoursupplier.
❖
For all other cases, use a power cord
that matches the AC voltage of the
poweroutletandhasbeenapprovedby
andcomplieswiththesafetystandardof
yourparticularcountry.
