Inspection Procedures

WARNING
To prevent serious injury or death:
•
Do not engage power take-off while hooking-up orÂ
unhooking driveline, or while someone is standing near theÂ
driveline. A personâs body and/or clothing can becomeÂ
â¢
All guards and shields must be installed and in goodÂ
working condition while operating implement.
â¢
Select a safe ground speed when transporting. Never travelÂ
at a speed which does not allow adequate control of steeringÂ
and stopping, and never exceed 20 mph with attachedÂ
equipment. Some rough terrains require a slower speed.
â¢
Always disengage power take-off, place tractor in park orÂ
set park brake, shut tractor engine off, remove switch key,Â
and wait for all moving parts to stop before dismountingÂ

Park tractor and mower on a level surface.
2.
Make sure tractor PTO is disengaged and mowerÂ
blades have come to a complete stop.Â
3.
Inspect tractor safety equipment to make sure it is inÂ
good working condition.
4.
Carefully raise and lower implement to ensureÂ
drawbar, tires, and other equipment on the tractor doÂ
not contact the mower or driveline.Â
5.
With PTO disengaged and driveline completelyÂ
stopped, check mower blades for sharpness. SeeÂ
The remaining inspections are made by engaging theÂ
PTO to check for normal operation.

WARNING

Stop power take-off immediately if vibration occurs duringÂ
start-up or thereafter. Follow all tractor shut down proceduresÂ
before dismounting from tractor. Investigate cause. MakeÂ
necessary repairs and adjustments before continuing.
6.
Start tractor, set throttle to an idle or slightly aboveÂ
idle and slowly engage PTO. Initial start-up vibrationÂ
is normal and should stop after a few revolutions.Â
Stop PTO rotation immediately if vibration continues.Â
7.
Once mower is running smoothly, increase tractorÂ
PTO speed to the appropriate rpm. Stop PTO rotationÂ
immediately if vibration occurs.
8.
Investigate the cause of vibration. Make necessaryÂ
corrections before continuing.

Operating Check
Hazard control and accident prevention are dependentÂ
upon the awareness, concern, prudence, and properÂ
training involved in the operation, transport, storage, andÂ
maintenance of the Grooming Mower. Therefore, it isÂ
absolutely essential that no one operates the mowerÂ
unless they are age 16 or older and have read, fullyÂ
understood, and are totally familiar with the OperatorâsÂ
Manual. Make sure the operator has paid particularÂ
attention to:

Perform the following inspections before using yourÂ
Grooming Mower.
Tractor Shut Down Procedure
It is essential that the tractor be shut down as notedÂ
below before making any inspections, maintenanceÂ
and/or repairs to the tractor and/or mower.
1.
Park tractor on a level surface.Â
Donât work under orÂ
around an implement parked on a steep incline
.
2.
Disengage PTO if operating.
3.
Place tractor in park and set park brake, shut tractorÂ
off and remove switch key. Wait for PTO to come to aÂ
complete stop before dismounting tractor.
4.
Wear safety glasses to make inspections andÂ
perform maintenance.

Check mower initially and periodically for looseÂ
bolts and pins. Be sure all nuts and bolts areÂ
tight. Especially make sure mower blade boltsÂ
are tight. Refer to âTorque Values Chart forÂ
