Driveline Hook-up
DANGER
!
To avoid serious injury or death:
•
Always shut tractor down using âTractor ShutdownÂ
Procedureâ provided in this manual before dismounting theÂ

â¢
All guards and shields must be installed and in goodÂ
working condition while operating the implement.
WARNING
!
To avoid serious injury or death: Â
â¢
Do not use a power take-off adapter. The adapter willÂ
increase strain on the tractorâs power take-off shaft causingÂ
possible damage to shaft and driveline. It will also defeatÂ
the purpose of the tractorâs power take-off shield.

â¢
Select a safe ground speed when transporting. Never travelÂ
at a speed which does not allow adequate control of steeringÂ
and stopping, and never exceed 20 mph with attachedÂ
equipment. Rough terrain requires a slower speed.
â¢
Check driveline when lowering tiller into the ground toÂ
make sure it does not interfere with the tractor drawbar atÂ
maximum depth. If needed, shut tractor off and move orÂ
remove drawbar to prevent damage to the driveline.
Refer to Figure 1-5 on page 10:
The tiller driveline (#3) fastens to the tractor power take-
off shaft with pull collar coupler (#4).Â
1.
If driveline collapsible length has not been checked,Â
go toÂ
âCheck Driveline Collapsible LengthâÂ
page 12. Otherwise, continue with step 2 below.
2.
Park tractor and tiller on a level surface.Â
3.
Shut tractor down before dismounting. Refer toÂ
âTractor Shutdown ProcedureâÂ
4.
If tractor drawbar interferes with the driveline duringÂ
hook-up, disconnect driveline and move drawbarÂ
forward, to the side, or remove.
5.
Pull back on driveline pull collar (#4) and push yokeÂ
onto the tractor power take-off shaft. Release pullÂ
collar and continue to push driveline yoke forwardÂ
until pull collar pops out and locks in place.Â
6.
Pull on driveline yoke at the tractor end to make sureÂ
it is secured to the tractor power take-off shaft.
