Pull the trimming head backwards to remove it from the appliance. Carefully spread the
•
cutting blades and add 2-3 drops of the enclosed oil on the cutting blades.
Put the trimming head back and start the machine to spread the oil. Dry off excess oil with
•
a paper towel.
Disposal of appliance and batteries
The hair clipper is equipped with 2 rechargeable AA Ni-MH 1,2V batteries. When it is no longer
possible to recharge the batteries or if the batteries run down proportionately fast, the batteries
must be removed and the appliance must be disposed.
Follow the instructions below to remove the batteries:
Remove the side panels on each side of the appliance by pulling them outwards.

Remove the two screws on the backside of the appliance with a screwdriver.
•
Prize open the cover by forcing a screwdriver or similar in between the covers.

Remove the batteries and dispose them according to the instructions under “ Environmental
•
considerations and disposal of batteries”.
Safety instructions
1. Read the instruction manual carefully before use, and save it for future use.
2. Plug the appliance to a household outlet of 230V only, and use the appliance only for the
intended use.
3. Always unplug the appliance from the mains supply when not in use.
4. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person
responsible for their safety.
5. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Children
are not always able to understand potential risks. Teach children a responsible handling of
electrical appliances.
6. Check that the cord is not hanging over the edge of the table.
7. Do not place the appliance on or near hotplates, open fire or the like.
8. Do not touch the adapter with wet or humid hands.
9. The appliance should only be used under supervision.
10. The appliance is not for outdoor use.
11. Only use the original adapter.
12. Store the appliance and adapter in a dry and frost-free place.
13. Always examine appliance, cord and plug for damage before use. If the supply cord is
damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, or his service agent or a similarly
qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
14. For additional protection the installation of a residual current device (RCD) with a rated
residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA is recommended. Ask your installer for
advice.
15. The appliance is for domestic use only.
16. If the appliance is used for other purposes than intended, or is it not handled in accordance
with the instruction manual, the full responsibility for any consequences will rest with the
user. Any damages to the product or other things are not covered by the warranty.
