SEQUENTIAL TRIP SAFETY OPERATION
The model 475 fl ooring stapler operates on a sequenti al trip system. The sequenti al
trip system requires the operator to hold the tool against the work before pulling
the trigger. This makes accurate fastener placement easier. The sequenti al trip
allows exact fastener locati on without the possibility of driving a second fastener on
recoil. The sequenti al trip system has a positi ve safety advantage because it will not
accidentally drive a fastener if the tool is contacted against the work – or anything
else – while the operator is holding the trigger pulled.
TOOL OPERATION CHECK:
CAUTION: Remove all fasteners from tool before performing tool operati on check.
SEQUENTIAL TRIP OPERATION:
A. Press the contact trip against the work surface, without touching the trigger.
THE TOOL MUST NOT CYCLE.
B. Hold the tool off the work surface and pull the trigger.
THE TOOL MUST NOT CYCLE.
Release the trigger. The trigger must return to the trigger stop on the frame.
C. Pull the trigger and press the contact trip against the work surface.
THE TOOL MUST NOT CYCLE.
D. With fi nger off the trigger, press the contact trip against the work surface. Pull
the trigger.
THE TOOL MUST CYCLE.
DUAL TRIGGER OPERATION
(PATENT PENDING)
The dual trigger feature gives you multi ple opti ons for hand orientati on and trigger
actuati on to allow you to choose the actuati on method that works best for you for a
given applicati on. The following illustrati ons are two examples.

TOOL AIR FITTING:
This tool uses a free-fl ow connector plug, 1/4 NPT. The inside diameter should be
.200” (5mm) or larger. The fi tti
ng must be capable of discharging tool air pressure
when disconnected from the air supply.
OPERATING PRESSURE:
70 to 100 PSIG. (4.8 to 7.0 kg/cm2). Select the operati ng pressure within this range
for best fastener performance. DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED OPERATING
PRESSURE.
AIR CONSUMPTION:
The model 475 requires 3.1 cubic feet per minute (.09 cubic meters) of free air to
operate at the rate of 100 fasteners per minute, at 80 PSI (5.6 kg/cm
2
). Take the
actual rate at which the tool will be run to determine the amount of air required. For
instance, if your fastener usage averages 50 fasteners per minute, you need 50% of
the tool’s C.F.M. which is required to operate the tool at 100 fasteners per minute.

LUBRICATION
Apply one or two drops of Air Tool Lubricant, Mobil Velocite #10, or equivalent prior
to each use. Use more or less frequently depending on usage and duty cycle
