Theunithasdetectedthattheambienttemperatureisverycoldorthesensorhasbroken.Ifthetemperatureisnotbelow-40°C
thentheunitwillneedtobereturnedtoaserviceagentforrepair.
8:Ambienttemperaturemorethan+600°C.
Theunithasdetectedthattheambienttemperaturesensorhasbrokenorawirehasgoneopencircuit.Theunitmustbereturned
toaserviceagentforrepair.
10:Lowsupplyfrequency<40Hz
Theunithasdetectedthatthesupplyfrequencyisbelow40Hz.Thiswillnormallybecausedbyapoorqualitygenerator.Ifthis
faulthappensthencheckthesupplyorchangethegenerator.
11:Highsupplyfrequency>70Hz
Theunithasdetectedthatthesupplyfrequencyisabove70Hz.Thiswillnormallybecausedbyapoorqualitygenerator.Ifthis
faulthappensthencheckthesupplyorchangethegenerator.
12:Highsupplyvoltage>140v(or280vwitha220vsupply)
Theunithasdetectedthatthesupplyvoltageismorethan140volts
(280voltswithanominal220vsupply).Checkthesupplyvoltageandifnecessaryuseadifferentgenerator.
13:Lowsupplyvoltagec95v(or190vwitha220vsupply)
Thisfaultcanbecausedbyafewproblems.Itcouldbethatthegeneratorisrunningslowlyandsothesupplyvoltageislow.
Tryspeedingthegeneratoruporuseadifferentgenerator.
Itcouldalsobecausedbyageneratorthatistoosmall.Ifalargefittingiswelded,thenalargeamountofpowerwillbeneeded
fromthegenerator.Ifitcannotsupplythispowerthenitwillstallandthevoltagewilldropaway.Checkthatthegeneratoristhe
correctsize,ifneedsbetryanothergenerator.
Itcouldbecausedbytheuseoflongextensionleads.Ifalargefittingisweldedthenahighcurrentwillbetakenfromthesupply.
Ifextensionleadsareused,therewillbeavoltsdropdowntheleadmakingtheunitsensealowsupplyvoltage.Trynottouse
extensionleadswiththeunit.Ifyouhavetothenusejust10metersof4.0mm2cable,thesamesizefittedtotheunit.
14:Relayfailedtolatchonweldstart
Thisfaultcouldhappenwhenthestartbuttonispressed.Ifthemainpowerrelaysdonotoperatecorrectlythenthisfaultwill
beshown.Theunitneedstobereturnedforservice.
20:Lowoutputvolts(-1.25%)
Thisfaultwillhappeniftheoutputvoltageis1.25%lowerthanthesetpointformorethan3seconds.Thiscanbecausedbya
generatorthatisnotbigenoughtosupplytherequiredpowertothefitting.Checkthesizeofthegeneratorandifneedsbetry
anothergenerator.Itcanalsobecausedbyusinglongextensionleadswiththeunit.Itisrecommendedthatonly10metersof
extensionareused,andthecableshouldbethesamethicknessastheinputleadontheunit(4.0mm2).
21:Highoutputvolts(+1.25%)
Thisfaultwillhappeniftheoutputvoltageis1.25%higherthanthesetpointformorethan3seconds.Itwillnormallybecaused
byapoorqualitygeneratorwiththesupplyvoltagefluctuating.Tryadifferentgenerator.
22:Excessoutputvolts(+6.25%)
Thisfaultwillhappeniftheweldingvoltageis6.25%morethanthesetpointformorethan2seconds.Thisfaultisnormally
causedbyafaultwithintheunit,ashortcircuittriac.Theunitmustbereturnedforservice.
23:Lowoutputcurrent(c2.5A)
Thisfaultwillhappeniftheweldingcurrentisbelow2.5ampsformorethan3seconds.Itcanbecausedbyafaultyfitting.
Tryanotherfitting.Ifthisdoesn’tclearthefaultthenthereisaprobleminsidetheunitanditmustbereturnedforrepair.
24:Shortedturndetectedinfitting.
Whilewelding,theunithasdetectedasharpincreaseinweldingcurrentThisisnormallycausedbyashortedturnhappeningin
thefitting.(AnincreaseOF10%).Ifthishappensthenitismostlikelyafaultyfitting.Thismustbereplaced.Ifthefaultpersists
thenitcouldbeafaultwithintheunit
25:Userstopbuttonpressed
Theoperatorhaspressedthestopbutton.
26:Relayunlatched
Duringwelding,ifthemainpowerrelaydisconnectsthenthisfaultwillbeshown.Itcouldbecausedbytheunitbeingknockedor
atemporarydipinthepowersupply.Ifthefaultpersiststhentheunitshouldbereturnedforrepair.
27:Fittingopencircuit
Thisfaultisshowniftheoutputleaddisconnectsfromthefittingwhilewelding.Followtheguidelinesfromthefitting
manufacturer,reconnecttheleadandtryweldingagain.
