6.- EQUIPMENT WITH FAILURES.
6.1.- Generic alarms.
In case of faults in the UPS, the screen, by default, will be replaced by one alarm message, which can be one of the following:
When the UPS has failures that can’t be solved, it is not able to guarantee the non-interrupted power supply to the loads. Therefore, it is
better to make the EMERGENCY BYPASS manoeuvre and leave the equipment isolated and shutdown, before calling the Service and
Technical Support.
In case of parallel equipments, the UPS with faults is excluded from the parallel operation, however it must be isolated by
turning off the OUTPUT SWITCH and shutting down the equipment. Next call to the Service and Technical Support.
In case of temperature alarms, be sure that there is not any cooling liquid leakage (liquid level alarm in the LCD panel). In case
of liquid leakage, the equipment must be shutdown and isolated, and transferring it to maintenance bypass. Call to the
Service and Technical Support.
6.2.- Fire principle.
In case of fire, remind you that CO2 or dust extinguisher must be used only. The equipment must be shutdown completely
and transferred to maintenance Bypass, and the battery switch must be turned off.
In case of parallel equipments, the OUTPUT SWITCH of that UPS must be turned off immedately and the rest of the switches
too, including the battery one.

INVERTER SHUTDOWN
Initial start up
Start up the inverter.
Permanent overload
Check the output.
OVERLOAD
Continuous overload at the UPS
output
Check the load at the UPS output and the start up
the inverter.
Check that there is not any short-circuit at the
output.
OVERLOAD BATTERY FAULT
High inrush loads at the UPS output.
Check the load at the UPS output and start up the
inverter again.
Three frustrated attempts have been
done for transferring to inverter
BATTERY TEST FAULT
Wrong battery test
Check the batteries.
Check the battery fuses.
LOW BATTERY ALARM
Low battery voltage. The inverter will
be shutdown soon.
Shutdown the non-critical loads, which are
connected to the UPS.
STATIC SWITCH FAULT
One or more phases are missed
Check the SCR of the bypass.
Check the external connections of the bypass.
MANUAL BYPASS ENABLED
UPS in maintenance
INPUT MAINS OUT OF RANGE
The switch is turned off.
Check the mains voltage and the position of the
switches.
BYPASS LINE OUT OF RANGE
The input phase rotation is wrong.
Check the bypass line voltage.
There is a mains fault.
Check the phase rotation of the mains.
EMERGENCY UPS SHUTDOWN
The E.P.O has been activated.
Restart up the UPS.
Turn on the switches and the battery fuses.
Wait till the LCD panel is off completely.
After that put the UPS on again.
BATTERY CHARGER FAULT
The battery charger is faulty or not
connected.
