✦ Your kit includes a motor mount box for both direct drive and gear drive motors. Make sure that you use the
correct one for your particular setup. The long motor mount box should be used for direct drive motors (like the Wattage Super
400 Cobalt) and motors that use an inline gear box (like the Wattage Cobalt 400 Inline Gear Box). The short motor mount box
should be used for motors that feature an offset gear box (like the Wattage 370 Power System with 3.67:1 Gear Box).
Mounting screws are provided for both types of motor installation. Before installing your motor, double-check that the screws
provided will work properly with your setup.
These instructions show the installation of both types of motor installation. Step 1 shows direct drive motor installation and step
1B shows offset gear box motor installation.
❑ Test-fit the long plywood motor mount box onto the firewall. When
positioned properly, the tabs in the back of the motor mount box should
fit into the slots in the firewall and the motor mount box should be pushed
firmly into place.
❑ When satisfied with the fit, glue the motor mount box to the firewall, using a generous amount of 5 minute epoxy. Remove any
excess epoxy, using a paper towel and rubbing alcohol, and hold the motor mount box firmly in place, until the epoxy sets up.

❑ Using a generous amount of 5 minute epoxy, glue one piece of balsa
triangle stock to each side of the motor mount box.

✦ The triangle stock should fit firmly between the motor
mount box and the firewall. The triangle stock adds a lot of strength to
the joint, so don't skip this procedure.
