2. SAFETY INFORMATION
PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU READ THE FOLLOWING SAFETY POINTS VERY CAREFULLY.
TRAINING
1.Readthisinstructionmanualcarefullybeforeuse.
2.Ifyouintendtouseanoutboardmotorwithyourcraft,ensurethatyoureadtheinstructions
tothisthoroughly.
3.Itistheresponsibilityoftheperson(s)inchargeofoperatingtheboattolearnthelawsonhow
itshouldbeoperatedandwhichadequateequipmentshouldbecarried.
Factorstobeconsideredinclude:
-Locationwheretheboatiscommissioned
-Localauthorityrequirements
-Typeofuseoftheboat
-Thetimeofdayinwhichthecraftwillbeused
-Operatingconditions
-Size,speedrouteandtypeofboat
-Navigationmode
4.Onceyouaresatisfiedthatyoufullyacknowledgeandunderstandtheapplicablelaws,ensure
thatyoureadthefollowingsafetyinstructions.
PREPERATION
1.Eachpassengermustwearadequateclothingandasuitablelifejacket.
2.Ensurethatthestandardboatequipmentisonboardandfitforuse.Thisincludestheoars,
footpumpandrepairkit.Notethatadditionalsurvivalequipmentmaybeneccessary.
3.Theboatshouldneverbeoperatedbyperson(s)undertheinfluenceofalcoholordrugs.
4.Donotexceedthemaximumloadratingormaximumenginepowerindicatedwithinthis
instructionleaflet/buildersplate.
5.Ensurethatyoufactorwind&tidepatternsbeforedisembarking.Anyvariationinthesecan
haveaneffectonfuelconsumption.
6. Consult with local authority to familiarise yourself with any dangers and hazards before
navigatingwithinunfamiliarwaters.
7.Informsomeoneonshoreofyourtimeandpointofdeparture,yourrouteandtheestimated
timethatyouwillreturn.
8.Donotnavigatewithindarkconditionswithoutanynavigationallightinginstalled.Checkall
navigationalproductsinstalledarefullyworking.
9.Itisthedurtoftheboatoperatortoknowandfullyunderstandmaritimeregulationsandto
enquireaboutweatherandwaterconditionsbeforeheadingouttosea.
10.Ensureallsurvivalequipment(signalflares,firstaidkit,anchoretc)arefullychecked.
11.Donotuseacompressedairsourcetoinflatetheboat.Overinflationmaycausetheseams
to rupture. Note that no inflatable product is 100% airtight, and that it is normal for your
crafttoloseairduringlongperiodsofactivity/inactivity.Ifexcessivepressureislost,seizeuse
immediatelyandcontactyourdealer.
12.Considercarefullywhetheroarsorasmalloutboardmotorshouldbeuseddependingonsea
conditions.Thepowermaynotbeenoughtocountertidalcurrentsorshallowwater.
13.DONOTEXCEEDRECOMMENDEDENGINEPOWERRATINGS!Anoutboardenginewithtoo
muchpowercanbeverydangerousandmayresultinseriousconsequences.
14.Ifyouintendtouseanoutboardengine,ensurethatyoufitanemergencykill-switchcord.
15. Check regulary that your outboard engine is completely secure. If your engine becomes
loose,yourcraftmaybecomeuncontrollableormaycomeunattached.
16.Avoidplacingyourcraftincontactwithobjectswhichhaveatemperaturelowerthan-20ºC
orhigherthan60ºC.Thiscanseriouslydamagetheboatskin.
