2. SAFETY INFORMATION
REFUELLING
1.Storefuelincontainersspecificallydesignedforthatpurpose.
2.Refuelwhilstoutofthecraftonly.Donotstarttheenginewhilstrefuelling.Neversmoke
whilstrefuellingorhandlingfuel.
3.Donotremovethefuelcaporrefuelwiththeenginerunning,orwhilstitisstillhot.
4.Youmuststoptheengineandturnofftheignitionbeforerefuelling.
5.Handlefueltankswithcaution,avoidingleakswithintheboatorwater.
6. Do not start the engine if fuel has leaked/spilled. Avoid creating sparks until the fuel has
completelyevaporatedandthefumeshavedissipated.
7.Ensurefuelcapsaretightlyclosedwhennotinuse.
8.Reducepersonsonboardtoaminimumwhenrefuelling.
9.Ensurethatafireextinguisheriskeptonboard.
10.Donotoverfillyouroutboard.
11.Checkthefuelconnectionstopreventfuelleaksandhazards.
12.Readtheoutboardengineinstructionsorcontactyourdealerforadviceonwhichtypeof
fueltouse.

NAVIGATION
1.Beawareoftherisksofcarbonmonoxidepoisoning.
-Exhaustgasescontaincarbonmonoxidewhichisatoxic,colourlessandodourless
gas.Inhalingcarbonmonoxidecanleadtolossofconciousness,andevendeath.
-Theconcentrationofexhaustgasesintheairmayincreaseconsiderablyifthe
engineisrunningandisinaconfinedarea.Ensurethatadequateventilationis
providedtoavoidexcessiveaccumilationofexhaustgases.
2.Allpassengersmustbeseatedeavenlyinsidetheboatandmustholdontohandrails/safety
rope.Donotsitonthetubes.
3.Ensureproperhandlingoftheoutboardengine.Dangeroushandlingofanoutboardmotor
may lead to serious injury or even death. Avoid swimmers, and discourage anyone from
swimmingtotherearoftheboatwhilsttheengineisrunning.
4.Avoidrapidaccelerationswhichcancauseyouoryourpassengerstofalloverboard.
5. In a circumstance where your craft must be towed, passengers must disembark, and all
equipmentmustberemoved.
6.Donottowyourtenderbythemooringringatthefront.Towusingthetowingringsontheside.
7.Weightmustbeevenlydistributedaroundthecraft.Donotacceleratesuddenlyifyourboat
ismotorisedandnotheavilyladen.
9.Itisstronglyadvisedthatyoucarrybackupmanualbailingapparatusincaseofleak/flooding.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
1.Neverstoreaboatwithfuelinthetankinaroomwherefuelvapourscouldreachaflame,
sparkorstrongsourceofheat.
2.Neverusecleaningproductsthatincludealcoholtocleanyourcraft.Useofthesetypeof
productsmaycauseprematuredryingoftheboatskin.
3.Ensurethatyourboatisstoredinaclean,dryarea-freeofpotentiallyharmfulchemicalsor
liquids.
4.PVCissensitivetoUVradiation.Ifthecraftmustbestoredoutdoors,ensureitisprotected
withasuitablecover.
Keep valves and bungs closed or open as appropriate to minimise risk of flooding.
