Install the SFVRA-CFG database.
SFVRA-CFG uses Microsoft (MS) SQL Server (6.5 or later) for its database. The database is
created by the SC Database Setup utility. You may choose to run this utility when installing the
software. If you choose not to run the utility when installing the software, you may run it later.
To do this, from the Start Menu\Programs\SFVRA - Configuration Manager, select SC
Database Setup. Install the database on a Windows NT device.
a.
Login to the MS SQL Server. Enter the Login ID sa and a password, if necessary, and click
OK. The SQL Setup program executes.
b.
Follow the onscreen instructions to complete installation. However, we recommend
specifying the device size of at least 30 MB when prompted.
c.
When the SQL Setup program has finished, MS SQL messages are listed in the dialog box.
Ensure no error messages appear. Click Close.
If you use MS Access the installation steps are:
1.
Install the SFVRA-CFG software.
SFVRA-CFG software must be installed on the system containing the SFVRA-CFG database
and on the system that runs the SFVRA-CFG application. Install SFVRA-CFG software using
the following steps:
a.
Close any active applications.
b.
Insert the SFVRA Manager Setup CD into the CD-ROM drive.
c.
Click on Install SFVRA Configuration Manager.
d. From the displayed screen, select which SFVRA-CFG components you want to install. Do
not install the SFVRA-CFG Database Setup Utility as this is for the MS SQL Server only.
e.
Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.
2.
Install the ODBC Drive Pack 3.0.
Install ODBC Drive Pack 3.0 on the device that will run the SFVRA-CFG and MS Access
applications. Note that you must already have a Microsoft application (such as MS Word, MS
Office, etc.) on your device. ODBC will allow you to connect to the SFVRA-CFG Database. To
install the ODBC drive pack:
a.
From the initial installation screen click Install ODBC Drive Pack 3.0.
b.
When prompted, choose the Complete Install option. If the installation fails, refer to the
instructions included in the SFVRA-CFG User’s Guide.
c.
If the Data Sources window is displayed during the installation of the ODBC Drive Pack,
select to add a data source; otherwise, once the installation of the ODBC Drive Pack
completes, select 32 bit ODBC from the Control Panel and select to add a data source.
d. Select the MS Access driver. Click OK.
e.
Enter SFVRACFG as the data source name.
f.
Select scfgper.mdb as the database. The path to this database is:
C:\program files\sfvracfg\program\scfgper.mdb.
g.
Click OK and then click Close.
