Considerations for projector
installation
Pleasereadthefollowingcarefullybeforein-
stallingthisunit.
Installation Environment
Thisunitisaprecisiondevice.Donotinstallit
inthefollowingplaces.Doingsomaycause
fireormalfunctionoftheunit.
• Wherethereiswater,humidityordust
• Wheretheunitmaybesubjectedtooilyorciga-
rettesmoke
• Onasoftsurfacesuchascarpetorcushion
• Wheretheunitmaybesubjectedtohightem-
peratureduetodirectsunlight
• Whentemperatureishighorlow.
Allowableoperationtemperaturerange:+5to
+35degreesCelsius.
Allowablerelativehumidityrange:20%to80
%(nocondensation)
Allowablestoragetemperaturerange:-10to
+60degreesCelsius
• Anyroominwhichthereiscigarettesmokeor
grease.
Even where smoke and grease levels are mini-
mal, prolonged exposure will affect this unit.
This unit produces significant amounts of
heat, and the optical components are cooled
by taking in a large amount of air. The optical
path may be soiled by grease/dirt, thus causing
images to become dark or colour projection to
deteriorate. Wheresoilingoftheopticalcompo-
nentsoccurs,totalremovalofgrease/dirtmay
notbepossible.
Operating Precautions
Thisunitusesalightsourcethatreacheshigh
temperaturesduringprojection.
Do not allow projection under the follow-
ing conditions, as doing so may cause fire
or failure of the unit:
• Projectionwiththeunitlaidonitssides
• Projectionwiththeunitinstalledinanunrea-
sonableangle
Avoid using this unit at an angle of more than
degrees horizontally and 2 degrees vertically.
Doing so may cause unevenness in the colour
and/or shorten the lamp life.
• Projectioninalocationthatblockstheairinlets
orexhaustvents
• Projectioninaplaceexposedtoairblastsfrom
anairconditioner
• Projectionwithoutremovingthelenscap
Mounting the projector
Theprojectorcanbeoperatedinafree-stand-
ingpositionusingthefeetsupplied.Tomount
theprojector,removethe4feetandmakeuse
ofthe4screwholes(M8nuts)ontheunder-
sideoftheprojector.Allowsufficientspace
aroundtheairinletstoavoidblockingthem.
Precautions for Ceiling-mount
• Toceiling-mountthisunit,specialexpertiseand
techniquesarenecessary.Besuretoaskyour
dealer(oraspecialist)toperformmounting(to
ceilings,etc.).
• Donotmountinplacesthatmaybesubjected
tovibrationandshock.
• Thedepthofthethreadedholesis30mm.Use
screwsshorterthan30mmbutlongerthan19
mm.Longerscrewsmaydamageinternalparts
oftheprojectorandcausemalfunction.
• Safetyoftheinstallationlocationshouldbe
consideredincasethisunit,orapartofit,falls.
Notethatifthelight-sourcelampisbroken,
glassshardsfromthefiltermeshmayspread
outsidetheprojector.
Minimum Space Required
Donotuseacoverwhichmayenclosethisunit
orblocktheairinlets/exhaustvents.Allowsuf-
ficientspacearoundthisunit.Whenthisunitis
enclosedinaspaceofdimensionsasindicated
ontheleft,useanair-conditionersothatinter-
nalandexternaltemperaturesarethesame.
