INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Baking pies with the pie maker is very simple and bakes eight mini pies or tarts in around 10 minutes.
We’ve given you some recipes to get you started, and then you can adapt favourites or make pies with
leftovers from meals.
•
With the lid closed, place the pie maker on a suitable surface and plug into the mains socket.
The orange power light will come on and show that the pie maker is heating up.
•
While the pie maker is heating up, roll out the pastry and cut out eight circles using the larger
side of the base/lid cutter. Then cut out eight circles using the smaller side of the base/lid cutter.
These will make the lids of the pies.
•
After about five minutes the green ‘ready’ light will come on. Lift the lid using the handle and
taking great care not to touch the hot surfaces.
•
Carefully place a pastry pie base centrally over each pie mould and, using the pusher, push gently
into the mould.
•
Spoon the filling into the pie bases being careful not to let it overflow the edges. Do not overfill
the pie as the edge of the lids will not seal properly.
•
Place the pastry lid onto the pies and use the pusher/ lid shaper to press down and shape the
pastry lid.
•
Brush each pie top with a little milk or beaten egg.
•
Close the lid.
•
Cook the pies for around 10 minutes or until golden brown. To check if they are cooked properly
use a heatproof nylon, wooden or silicone spatula to lift a pie from the mould and check if the
base all seems cooked, if not return to the pie maker for another 2-3 minutes.
•
When the pies are ready remove them all using a spatula to get them out of the moulds.
•
Do not use metal or sharp edged utensils as this may damage the non-stick coating.
•
Be careful, the fillings in the pies may be very hot.
