STORAGE
• Make sure that the control rod
is supported on the support plate
between the two shoulders on the
control rod

Storing Edger
Gasoline is extremely
fl ammable and can be
explosive under certain
conditions. Turn the
ignition switch OFF.
Do not smoke. Make
sure the area is well
ventilated and free from
any source of fl ame or
sparks; this includes any
appliance with a pilot
light.
• Stop engine.
• Drain fuel tank.
• Run engine until it stops.
• Change engine oil while engine
is warm .
• Remove spark plug. Add 30 mL
(1 oz) clean engine oil to cylinder.
Crank engine twice to distribute
oil. Install spark plug. Do not
attach spark plug cable .
• Clean edger.
• Tighten hardware.
• Touch up unpainted areas.
• Check all parts for wear.
Replace where necessary.
• Lubricate clutch/blade linkage
pivots.
ASSEMBLY

Removing Edger From
Storage
• Fill fuel tank with fresh fuel.
• Remove spark plug.
• Crank engine 10 to 12 times to
remove oil from cylinder.
• Check spark plug gap. Install
spark plug.
• Check engine· oil level. Add oil
if necessary.
• Start engine. Warm engine
before you operate.

• Adjust control rod linkage:
- Put blade angle lever in
lowest position.
- Squeeze clutch/blade control
lever against handle grip.
- Adjust nuts until correct
tension is placed onto the
drive belt
